CUSTOM PROJECTs CLASS

For intermediate/experienced potters, this class is designed for you to receive personalized instruction on the projects of your choice.

Want to get better at bottles or teapots? Want to throw larger? How about making great feet and handles on platters? Want to make boxes? Class includes both hand-building and wheel-throwing.

This is the time to really learn great techniques and improve your work!

Class starts Thursday, March 4th 9am-12.

Monthly OPEN STUDIO

Class meets once a week for 3 hours.

Price includes all firings, studio glazes, use of all studio tools and 1 bag of clay - students can purchase more clay as needed. Bisque firing will be done after the 3rd week of class - glazing is expected to be completed by the last week of class.

EXPERIENCED POTTERS ONLY!

This “class” is for students looking to work independently on projects either on the potters wheel or using the hand-building tables. Guidance is provided by our experienced studio artist, Cal Kato.

All projects must be picked up within 2 weeks after class finishes.

Please no production potters.

Monthly Wheel-Throwing Class

This class is for beginner and experienced potters who want to learn everything from the basics of throwing a cylinder to a range of techniques used to make different forms on the potters wheel.

Beginning Hand-Building Class

Join us for a really fun introductory ceramics class. Beginning Hand-building will focus on creating things you can use! You will be amazed at what you can make: cups, trays, plates, bowls and more. You will also learn some fabulous decoration techniques that will personalize your pottery and make it stand out from the rest!

Intermediates and even advanced students can always learn something new and refine your techniques.

intro to ceramics

This small-group class is for the beginner potter. Students will be taught the the basics of working with clay, including hand-building techniques and throwing cylinders on the potter’s wheel. Intermediate potters are welcome.

Class starts April 1st, 9am-12.

Interested in immersing yourself in the world of clay and trying a little bit of everything? During this class, students will:

  • Learn to use the potters wheel to make functional pieces such as mugs and bowls.

  • Sharpen your centering and throwing skills.

  • Tackle fun projects like hand-building wall planters, platters and vases.

  • Explore surface-design and glazing techniques to enhance your work.

If you’re new to ceramics or want to continue to refine your skills, this class is for you!

AFTER-SCHOOL CERAMICS CLASS FOR STUDENTS

Kathryn Stovall is teach after-school ceramics for middle school and high school kids. Students will get to hand-build, throw on the potter’s wheel and have fun decorating their pieces.


The price for each class includes clay, glazes, tools and firings.
